The Opportunity:

CACI is seeking a highly skilled Senior Citrix Engineer to provide ongoing support for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) on their Homeland Enterprise Information Technology Secure Services & Support (HEITS) team to ensure the implementation, management, and optimization of Citrix environments. We are searching for a qualified candidate to bring their expertise in Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops, Citrix ADC (formerly NetScaler), and a strong background in systems administration, networking, and troubleshooting. As a Citrix Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, deployment, administration, and support of Citrix environments to ensure high availability and excellent end-user performance.

Responsibilities:

1. Citrix Virtualization Environment Management:

  • Design, implement, and maintain Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops environments.
  • Administer Citrix ADC/NetScaler for load balancing, application delivery, and secure access.
  • Configure and manage Citrix policies and profiles to enhance user experience.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest Citrix technologies, patches, and updates.
  • Plan, test, and implement system updates and patches to maintain environment stability and security.
  • Implement and maintain security measures, including SSL encryption, secure tunneling, and multi-factor authentication for Citrix environments. Ensure compliance with internal and external standards.

2. Installation and Configuration:

  • Install and configure Citrix servers, delivery controllers, Citrix StoreFront, and Citrix Receiver.
  • Configure and troubleshoot Citrix License Server, Citrix Studio, and Citrix Director.

3. Troubleshooting, Issue Resolution, Disaster Recovery:

  • Resolve Citrix environment issues related to user access, application delivery, performance, and security.
  • Perform root-cause analysis of incidents and implement proactive solutions.
  • Assist end users with Citrix-related issues, including login issues, application access, and performance degradation.
  • Participate in capacity planning activities to ensure sufficient infrastructure is available to support end-user requirements.
  • Design and implement disaster recovery and business continuity plans for Citrix environments.

4. Performance Monitoring and Optimization:

  • Use monitoring tools (such as Citrix Director, Citrix Analytics, and third-party monitoring tools) to monitor Citrix performance.
  • Identify performance bottlenecks and recommend solutions to optimize the Citrix environment.

Qualifications:

Required: 

Clearance: Must possess a US Top Secret Clearance

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).

Experience:

  • 6-10 years of experience working with Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops, Citrix ADC, and other Citrix technologies.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, and related IT infrastructure technologies.
  • Hands-on experience with Citrix Cloud, Citrix Workspace, and Citrix Secure Workspace Access.

Certifications:

  • Citrix Certified Expert – Virtualization (CCE-V) or Citrix Certified Associate – Virtualization (CCA-V) preferred.

Technical Skills:

  • Strong understanding of Citrix infrastructure components, including Delivery Controllers, StoreFront, Citrix Receiver, Citrix ADC, and Citrix Director.
  • Advanced knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and networking protocols.
  • Expertise in scripting (PowerShell, VBScript, etc.) for automation and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with Hypervisors like VMware, Hyper-V, or XenServer for virtual environments.

Soft Skills:

  • Excellent problem-solving; troubleshooting; communication; documentation skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment, independently and with team

Desired:

  • Citrix Certified Administrator (CCA) for XenApp/XenDesktop; certifications in related technologies (VMware, Microsoft, Networking)
  • Familiarity with Citrix Cloud integration

The proposed salary range for this position is:

$74,600-$156,700
