Job Description:

The Opportunity:

CACI, Inc. is accepting applications for Software Engineer personnel to support the Contract for Organizing Spaceflight Mission Operations and Systems (COSMOS) program. COSMOS specifies technical, managerial, and administrative work needed to ensure the availability, integrity, reliability, and security of the Flight Operations Directorate’s (FOD) Mission Systems supporting National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) space flight programs requiring mission operations support. For this contract, “Mission Systems” is defined as the systems and subsystems of integrated hardware, software, networks, telecommunications, data, displays, and mockups used in the preparation for and performance of mission operations.

Responsibilities:

  • COSMOS Engineers are responsible for the design, development, test, implementation, and analysis of technical products and systems.

  • Performs engineering design evaluations.

  • May develop a range of products.

  • Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.

  • Works under immediate supervision and typically reports to a more senior engineer, supervisor, or a manager.

  • Engineers are recognized as technical leaders and resources in their respective fields to include Communications Engineering, Configuration Control/Data Management, Cyber Engineering, Database Administration, Hardware Engineering, Information Security, Infrastructure/Systems Administration, IT Network Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Software Engineering, Specialty Engineering, Systems Architecture, Systems Engineering, Technical Writing/Editing, and Test Engineering.

Qualifications:

Required: 

  • US Citizen

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or other relevant field of study

  • At least two (2) to fifteen (15) years of relevant work experience (Level I requires 2 years of experience, Level II 5 years, Level III 10 years and Level IV 15 years of relevant experience and progressive responsibility)

  • All Software Engineers must be familiar with commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within their field.

Desired:

  • Experience leading large and complex projects

  • Self-motivated and directed

  • Has strong attention to detail

  • Ability to work independently

  • Effective, professional interpersonal and communication skills

Pay Range: There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications. The proposed salary range for this position is:

$82,100 - 172,400 USD
