The Opportunity:At Photonics Ops South, A CACI Company, we specialize in the design, development, and manufacturing of complex, state-of-the-art systems for military, space, and commercial applications. Our products include both optical and RF systems as well as sophisticated image processing & visualization systems. Photonics Ops South has a small team of highly experienced engineers and scientists who work in tight-knit groups on state of the art projects while enjoying a good work-life balance. Responsibilities:Inspect custom fabricated mechanical parts and electrical assemblies (PCBAs and cables) using industry-appropriate methods, such as comparing to standards, measuring dimensions and examining functionality
Conduct first article inspections for new items, and in-process and final inspection audits in manufacturing and/or shipping as needed
Record inspection results by completing reports, summarizing results, and adding data into the quality management system database; Communicate inspection results and offer continual improvement suggestions
Confirm that assembly or production line adheres to standards and procedures and complying with legal requirements; Review production travelers to ensure correctness and completeness
Monitor production operations to ensure conformance to company specifications
Ensure the integrity of the end-item-data-package (EIDP) for all delivered space-flight terminals
Identify and implement process improvements, (ex: mistake-proofing) to improve overall throughput
Position my be either first or second shift
7+ years of relevant experience in electrical, mechanical, or electro-mech inspection for an electronics manufacturer; Previous experience with satellites or other flight hardware a plus
Experience inspecting mechanical, and electrical (PCBAs, cables, etc..) items.
Experience inspecting optical parts (lenses, mirrors, prisms) a plus.Able to use standard measurement and inspection tools including pin gauges, calipers, visual inspection system, microscope, etc…
IPC Certification a plus -- J-STD 001, or IPC-610, or IPC-620
Knowledge of ESD S20.20 and generally accepted good practice for ESD control
Organized. Proactive. Independent. Careful. Detail-focused.
Flexible within a dynamic environment. Able to multi-task and reprioritize as needed
